Can Fluance turntables play 78 rpm records?
While most Fluance turntables are compatible with 33 1/3 rpm and 45 rpm records only, the RT87 features a 78RPM speed setting.
78 rpm records are typically made from shellac which is much harder than vinyl. This would also require a different cartridge and stylus specifically designed for 78 rpm records. Due to the tracking force needed, a different counterweight would be required as well.
